Every month our Envoy group meets to network, discuss current intitiatives, and have fun! What is an Envoy?! 1. Our Envoy committee represents The Chamber in the community. 2. Envoys support local businesses and non-profits and encourage others to do the same. 3. Envoy members attend ribbon cuttings, business after hours, and other Chamber events! 4. This group welcomes new Chamber members and serves as ambassadors for our organization to the business community and the Lawrence community as a whole. 5. Envoys get weekly emails including last minute reminders for events, upcoming event agendas, and more! Who Can Join?! Any employee of a Chamber member business can join the Envoy Committee! HR After Hours: Navigating the Realities of the Profession
Program Description This interactive, discussion-based program explores the realities of sustaining a long-term career in Human Resources. Through a facilitated conversation with experienced HR leaders, participants will examine common professional challenges such as burnout, emotional labor, and navigating complex employee relations issues. The session will provide practical strategies for building resilience, maintaining professional effectiveness, and adapting to the evolving expectations of the HR function. Attendees will also gain insights into how to remain engaged and relevant throughout their careers while managing the demands of the profession. This program incorporates audience interaction, peer discussion, and real-world examples to support applied learning and professional development. Learning Objectives Identify key challenges that impact long-term career sustainability in Human Resources, including burnout and emotional labor. Apply strategies to build resilience and maintain effectiveness in high-stress or complex workplace situations. Analyze how the HR profession has evolved and determine methods for staying relevant in a changing workplace. Evaluate personal career practices and identify actionable steps to support long-term success in HR.
