Ribbon Cutting: Double Tree by Hilton

Please join us for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the grand opening of the Double Tree by Hilton, located at 200 McDonald Drive. 

The longtime hotel location formerly housed the Holiday Inn and has spent the last year undergoing extensive renovations in their transformation to a Double Tree. 

Here is some background on the transition:
•    On September 29, Hulsing Hotels Kansas, Inc, completed a multi-million dollar renovation of the entire hotel, from the studs up. Designed in a rustic chic theme with a modern twist, the remodeled public areas, guest rooms and dining facilities complement updates made to the 18,000-square-foot convention center, the largest in Lawrence, and its surrounding areas.
•    The majority of the renovation process took place from November 2015 through September 2016, covering the entire scope of the hotel. From the addition of three Junior Suites to extending half of rooms to the complete remodel of the public areas, this hotel is nearly unrecognizable from what it was before, a Holiday Inn. 
•    During the Ribbon Cutting, all meeting space will be opened up for viewing as well as several showrooms, so that the local Lawrence community and other Chamber members can see all the space
•    We are bringing the iconic, warm and gooey DoubleTree by Hilton Chocolate Chip Cookie with walnuts to Lawrence, KS as well as another avenue for visitors to Lawrence to obtain HHonors points, the number one hotel loyalty company in the country.
•    Special promotion whereby current HHonors guests can earn an extra 1,000 bonus points by staying with us for three nights through February 2, 2017. Chamber members, plan your staycations stat!
