Government & Community Affairs Luncheon - May 2024

The Chamber hosts Government & Community Affairs Luncheons the second Wednesday of each month open to any Chamber member and features speakers on a variety of topics, ranging from voting and elections to affordable housing and economic development.

For May's luncheon, we are pleased to welcome Jamie Shew, Douglas County Clerk/County Election Officer, for an informative discussion on upcoming elections.  Topics will include information on the new County Commission Districts, and November’s vote on new City Commission Districts and directly-elected Mayor.  Currently in his fourth term in office, Jamie Shew has achieved Master County Clerk status in Kansas and earned national Certified Election Registration Administrator status in 2017. We look forward to a robust and interesting discussion and will save time for questions.
