Join us for the Topeka Zoo & Conservation Center’s first annual Wildlife & Nature Festival, presented by Club Car Wash, on Saturday, September 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.!
This special day is all about celebrating our connection to the Earth, it's amazing animals and the ecosystems we all share. Explore the Zoo while discovering 30+ activity booths hosted by Zoo staff and outside organizations, with plenty of hands-on opportunities for the whole family!
There’s Something New Around Every Corner
From hands-on activities to unique take-home projects, there are plenty of ways to jump in, get creative and connect with nature:
• Become a Monarch Marshall and discover the incredible journey of monarch butterflies in our Monarch Village.
• Bring a little nature home with the Zoo’s first annual Native Flower Seed Sale.
• Build something for the birds! Create and take home your very own cedar bird house.
• Test your luck! Enter our raffle for a chance to win exclusive, one-of-a-kind prizes.
• Give your old electronics a new purpose by bringing unwanted devices to our first e-recycling drive. Old tech includes: Smart watches, cell phones, tablets, i-pads
• Step inside the science of soil and experience the Shawnee County Conservation District’s new Soil Tunnel.
• Show off your creativity or admire the artwork featured in our Poster Contest.
• Get hands-on and have some fun with interactive activities, make-and-take projects, food treats and plenty more to discover!
Whether you’re passionate about wildlife, love getting your hands dirty, want to learn something new or are simply looking for a fun day at the Zoo, there will be something for everyone!
All festival activities are included with regular Zoo admission!
