March 4th-8th is Kansas Severe Weather Awareness Week (SWAW). SWAW the perfect time to create or review and practice your personal and business severe weather plan.
Testing of the Douglas County Outdoor Warning Sirens will occur at 10 a.m., weather permitting, in conjunction with the annual Statewide Tornado Drill on Tuesday, March 5. Douglas County Emergency Management encourages each individual and business to test or review their tornado safety plan during the drill. Staff will be monitoring social media to connect with the community and answer severe weather preparedness questions.
