Bring your curiosity for a night of rapid research conversations with KU experts. Participants at this event will have 10 minutes each round to get a snapshot of each researcher?s area of expertise, ask questions and move to the next table ? and the next topic. Meet a librarian who knows all about bumper sticker culture and a science fiction writer who also happens to be an amateur astronomer and back-yard engineer. Talk to a herpetologist who just returned from studying reptiles in Madagascar, an anthropologist who knows about Neanderthals and their jewelry, plus a curator of art who seeks marriages of art to physics, religious studies, history and psychology. Round out the evening with a scientist who studies brain-computer interfaces, and an expert in technology that helps people who have speech-language disorders. Beer, wine and appetizers provided. Experts include: Whitney Baker, Kate Meyer, David W. Frayer, Richard Glor, Chris McKitterick, Sara H. Sack and Jonathan Brumberg. A free state festival event.
