Please join our membership as we welcome our new Chief of Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical Department.
Chief Llewellyn started his career as a firefighter in college. He worked to advance to Division Chief and has held almost every job on the way to his current title. He has served as a union officer and president. He has 2 masters degrees, including one from Harvard University. He has served 8 years as a paramedic.
Immediately prior to joining us in Lawrence, Chief Llewellyn served as the Assistant Chief of Administration for the Everett Fire Department in western Washington.
Chief Llewellyn oversees 156 LDCFM employees who work out of 7 facilities.
On a personal note, Rich will be joined at the luncheon by his wife Holly. A former basketball player, Lawrence captured his interest, thanks to KU Alumni and National Basketball Champion Danny Manning.
