Some animals have nonetheless colonized and thrive in habitats that are extremely hot, cold, toxic, or permanently dark. Michi Tobler, Kansas State University Professor of Biology, will introduce a peculiar group of fishes - the livebearers - that occur in toxic springs and caves and discuss how adaptation allows them to cope with the inhospitable conditions. |
