A Wild Science Lecture: Ornithology Expedition to the Solomon Islands Scientific expeditions require layers of permits between nations and even at the local level. For the first time in several decades, local tribes recently permitted scientists including Dr. Robert Moyle to visit the cloud forests of Guadalcanal. Join Dr. Moyle in a discussion about collections-based expeditions and the relationship between scientific research and conservation of the fauna of the mountainous Solomon Islands. Dr. Robert Moyle seeks to understand the patterns and processes of avian diversification. His interests span the historical biogeography of pantropical groups, patterns of diversification in Southeast Asia and the tropical Pacific, and the evolution of life history traits within tropical groups
