Introduction to Google My Business

In honor of National Small Business Week (May 1-7), The Chamber is holding their first Get Your Business Online workshop. This free workshop will help you get verified on Google My Business. 

We've partnered with Google to help put Lawrence businesses on the map - including yours. Businesses that have complete business information online are twice as likely to be considered reputable by consumers. When people can find information about local businesses like yours, our community becomes even stronger. 

You will need to bring a laptop, however, if you don't have one, the Lawrence Public Library will have limited access to laptops, but that's not guaranteed. 
 

Before the event, you'll need to create a Google account, if you don't already have one, to access the free online tools. If you've got one already, you're all set. Just remember to bring your username and password.

During our workshop, we can expedite the process of verifying your business on the map, instead of waiting for a pin code, because The Chamber is a Trusted Verifier. But to do this, we're required to confirm your business address on one of the following documents: utility bill, tax letter, or business registration certificate. The document must be original, not a copy, and it must include the business name and address. If you don't have one of those documents, no worries. We can set you up but you'll have to take a few additional actions after the workshop to complete the process.
