- 2021 Route Redesign Study
- 2021 Multimodal Transfer Facility Design + Downtown improvements
o Construction for both sites to occur in 2022
Lawrence Transit is embarking on a Route Redesign Study in 2021 to prepare for major route changes associated with the development of a Multimodal Transfer Facility at Bob Billings & Crestline. There will still be a need for some amount of transit access and transfer activity in the Downtown area, and a project goal is to develop a safer footprint for transit operations. With that in mind, the same consultant who will design the facility at Bob Billings & Crestline will select a site and design some limited improvements Downtown.
There will be focused Downtown stakeholder engagement meetings during the week of April 19, but this is an opportunity to introduce the new Transit Manager Adam Weigel to Downtown businesses, provide an overview of these projects, and answer any initial questions and concerns from Downtown businesses.
