DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the Grand Reopening & Rededication of the Ryan Gray Playground for All Children from 1-3 p.m. on October 1\, with a formal Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at 1:30 p.m. Enjoy the new playground\, a wheelchair basketball game\, scavenger hunt\, and other outdoor activities for all ages. Rain or shine event.\n\n\n\nThe Lawrence community built the Ryan Gray Playground for All Children\, the first fully accessible playground in Kansas\, in 1994. The playground's reconstruction this year was funded\, in part\, by a Quality of Life grant from the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation\, Lawrence Public Schools\, City of Lawrence\, Coach Larry Brown\, Ash Grove Charitable Foundation\, and a LiveWell Lawrence grant from the Douglas County Community Foundation.
